Storm (Earth-1610)
Storm, born Ororo Munroe, is an African mutant hero and a member of the X-Men. She is capable of calling down violent thunderstorms, but it takes a great deal of energy for her to perform, and is largely uncontrollable.
Biography
Ororo Munroe was recruited to the X-Men in early 2001 by Marvel Girl. Munroe was being held in jail in Athens, Texas for reasons that are unknown but likely related to her mutanthood. Some time prior to this, Munroe had been approached by Magneto to join the Brotherhood of Mutants, but she'd turned him down. When Marvel Girl freed her by hypnotizing the jailor, Munroe was concerned that she was representing Magneto. But Marvel Girl brought her to the headquarters of the X-Men in New York. There Cyclops gave Munroe the codename Storm alongside other new recruits Beast and Colossus. The five X-Men were then sent on a mission to recruit Bobby Drake, but were attacked by Sentinels upon finding him. Storm contributed greatly to the ensuing battle, striking several Sentinels with a single lightning bolt. She fell unconscious as a result, draining herself of considerable energy. Drake was successfully recruited, earning the moniker "Iceman."[1]
