Jack Taggart

Jack Taggart was an American soldier in Earth-199999 who lost one of his limbs in action. He was enlisted by Aldrich Killian in his Extremis project to regrow his limb. The Extremis substance worked, but proved addictive. Killian took advantage of Extremis' addictive and potentially explosive quality to coerce a series of soldiers into overdosing in public, vaporizing themselves and any in the vicinity. Killian passed these attacks off as the work of the Mandarin, a fictionalized terrorist leader. Taggart was the victim/instigator of one such attack, exploding in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles in December 2012. Happy Hogan was seriously injured in the attack.
