Hannah Hutchins is an American engineer from Utah in Earth-199999. By November 2013, she was a quality-control engineer at a particle-accelerator facility in Batesville. She was an object of affection for technician Tobias Ford, who on multiple occasions reported false problems just to speak to her. On one occasion, he loosened a couple of bolts in the accelerator, which unwittingly caused it to explode, killing him and three other technicians. Hutchins was wrongfully blamed by the town for the incident, and she began exhibiting what seemed to be telekinetic powers, harming people around her that tried to antagonize her. In truth, Hutchins was doing none of it: as a result of the explosion, Ford had been caught between this and another world (he believed it was Hell), and his "ghost" was protecting Hutchins. Agents from S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Phil Coulson took Hutchins into custody on their plane known as the Bus—they wanted to help her and figure out the situation, but Ford believed they were trying to hurt her. He disabled power to the Bus and assaulted several agents onboard. The team eventually figured out Ford's true motivations: agent Melinda May encouraged him to let her go, and he faded away in peace.[1]
