Slingshot (location)

The Slingshot is a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility in Earth-199999 where dangerous objects are ostensibly rocketed into the Sun for destruction. In September 2013, Phil Coulson and his team thought they did just that with a weapon they had found in Peru operated by a Tesseract fuel cell. The Slingshot's location is classified, but it appears to be somewhere in the American southwest. In truth, the Slingshot is entirely a ruse: those with higher S.H.I.E.L.D. security clearance are privy to the fact that objects supposedly sent to the Slingshot are in fact kept deep within the Fridge.
