Rising Tide

Rising Tide is a hacktivist group in Earth-199999 devoted to exposing secrets that shadowy organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D. would conceal from the public, notably relating to superpowered or extraterrestrial beings and their actions. In 2013, they publicly revealed the location of a Chitauri neural link minutes before S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Grant Ward was able to secure it. They then posted footage of Michael Peterson, a man with superior strength and agility, when S.H.I.E.L.D. might have otherwise tried to suppress the knowledge of his existence. The latter of these was due to a woman known only as Skye, a prominent Rising Tide member whom S.H.I.E.L.D. convinced to aid them in essentially protecting Peterson from himself.
