Lyndon Baines Johnson is the president of the United States, having inherited the post following the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963.[1] He was responsible for dropping charges against Bruce Banner when he was accused of treason: Rick Jones, a friend of Banner's and associate of the Avengers, revealed Banner's secret identity as the Hulk as part of explaining why he was innocent. Realizing the sensitive nature of this information, Johnson interceded on Banner's behalf and kept his identity a secret as requested.[2]
