Lelong

Lelong, full name unknown, is a Chinese treasure hunter and criminal. He was involved in an American expedition, apparently of scholarly intent, to find the Temple of Alano in Tibet. Lelong sabotaged the expedition, possibly even to the extent of killing the other adventurers, in an attempt to claim the temple's secrets for himself. He was unable to claim the map itself, and the expedition's leader returned to the United States with the map. Lelong remained in Hong Kong and adopted the identity of Sumner, awaiting the map's inevitable return as part of another expedition. That expedition came at the hands of Jane Framan, and Lelong attempted to accost her, but was thwarted and apprehended by the Angel.
