Invisible Man
Invisible Man, birth name Doctor Leonard Gade, is an American scientist and hero. He possesses a Ph.D. in physics.[1]
Biography
Dr. Leonard Gade was a young, highly intelligent scientist who regularly conducted experiments intended to benefit humanity. He was however frequently targeted by "selfish money grabbers," and one such man invaded Gade's laboratory and shoved him into a furnace. However, the combination of chemicals that Gade had interacted with that day made him impervious to the fire and caused him to turn invisible. Through experimentation with vibrations, Gade was able to learn to control his invisibility at will, becoming the Invisible Man. Gade traced the attempted assassination to criminal George Sporvan, who detested his attempts to better civilization. Arriving at Sporvan's hideout, the invisible Gade threw the man who attempted to kill him off of a balcony, then used Sporvan's gun to kill another of his henchmen. When the police arrived, it appeared that Sporvan had done the killing, but he managed to escape their grasp. Sporvan went to Gade's lab and waited for him there, fighting him when he arrived, but was killed when Gade threw him into an atomic disintegrator.[2]
Dr. Gade soon learned of a series of grave robberies perpetrated by Deadpan Louie and his gang. Louie was targeting deceased wealthy people's graves He attempted to catch the men in the act, but was overpowered and thrown into a river with a weight attached to his ankle. Gade managed to free himself and escape, and devised a plan to stop Louie's gang for sure. He planted a story in the newspaper declaring his death by drowning, and that he had been buried with a "million-dollar secret." Louie's gang dug up the grave and opened the casket, only for a living Invisible Man to appear before them. Gade defeated the stunned criminals and allowed the police to take them in.[3] He later took down a criminal gang responsible for hounding a famous actress to suicide.[4]
