Dominus

Dominus is a vast machine complex used by the Quist people to subjugate planetary populations. The Quists designed it to be operated only by a small number of powerful robots. It was used on a number of planets before the Quists turned their attention to Earth. Lucifer brought Dominus there in the mid 1950s, using it to conquer a small walled city in Tibet. The machine took time to increase in power sufficiently to overtake all of humanity. By the following decade, Lucifer had relocated it to the American Southwest, where it reached its full power. The X-Men responded to Lucifer's threat and attacked his base, destroying the robots and rendering Dominus useless. With the machine inert, the Quists' previously conquered planets would soon regain their independence.
