Chad Davis

Chad Davis was an American military veteran from Rose Hill, Tennessee in Earth-199999 who lost one of his limbs in action. He was enlisted by Aldrich Killian in his Extremis project to regrow his limb. The Extremis substance worked, but proved addictive. Killian took advantage of Extremis' addictive and potentially explosive quality to coerce a series of soldiers into overdosing in public, vaporizing themselves and any in the vicinity. Killian passed these attacks off as the work of the Mandarin, a fictionalized terrorist leader. Davis was the victim/instigator of an attack that took place in 2012 before the unveiling of the Mandarin persona, apparently as a "trial run." The attack killed several people in Rose Hill, leaving no trace of Davis' own body.
