Time Master
The Time Master, born Elias Weems, is an American scientist and former villain living in New York City.[note 1] In 1963, Weems was fired from the laboratory at which he worked due to his advanced age, having recently turned 65. Spiteful to society for failing him, he developed a ray gun that would advance the age of its target at an exceptional rate, bringing a newborn to death in moments. The weapon could also reverse these effects.
The Time Master began his villainous ways by threatening the police with his pending plans to age the populace. Ant-Man heard of Weems' plot and confronted him at his home, but was caught off-guard and fired upon by Weems' aging ray. Weems dumped the tiny, frail Ant-Man in the trash and left for City Hall, firing his aging ray upon a great number of people at once. Weems unwittingly fired upon his beloved grandson as well, dropping the aging ray in a panic. Ant-Man was able to recover, and using his ant army took the ray and reversed the aging on the citizens. Weems was taken into custody, but Ant-Man himself testified for his release, arguing that he had value to society if only he weren't discriminated for his age. Weems was rehired to his lab and lived out the rest of his days as a prospering scientist.[1]
Notes
- ↑ Originally written as Center City, but Ant-Man's home was almost immediately retconned as New York. One could assume that "Center City" is a colloquialism.
