Ted Braddock is an American television reporter in Glenville, New York. In 1963, Braddock garnered attention by badmouthing the Human Torch on the air, accusing him of being a glory-hungry showoff whose flamboyant displays eroded the public's respect for the police force. Braddock was forced to eat his words when Torch absorbed the full impact and radiation of a small nuclear bomb that was set to detonate near a veteran's hospital where Braddock's son, Dan, was a patient. The explosion nearly killed Torch, and afterward Braddock took to the airwaves to wholeheartedly apologize for his prior remarks and declare Torch a true hero.[1]
