Sentinel
A Sentinel is a robot designed to identify, hunt, and destroy mutants, invented by Dr. Bolivar Trask in the 1960s. A typical Sentinel stands approximately 10 feet tall. Trask first designed the supremely intelligent Master Mold, a much larger Sentinel with the power to create more Sentinels. Though powerful and ruthless, Sentinels will not act unless specifically instructed by their superior. The Master Mold's sentience quickly outgrew the purpose for which it was constructed, and believed its Sentinels to be the rightful conquerors of the human race. Trask refused to assist his rebellious creation, and sacrificed himself destroying the Master Mold's power source. Its construction facility was destroyed in the ensuing explosion, destroying the remaining Sentinels in the process.[1][2][3]

In Earth-92131, Sentinels were created and deployed by Henry Gyrich for the Mutant Control Agency (MCA) in 1992.[4]
