Maya Hansen (Earth-199999)

Maya Hansen was an American geneticist and inventor of the Extremis formula. On New Year's Eve 1999 at a science conference in Bern, Switzerland, Hansen spent the night with Stark Industries CEO Tony Stark and demonstrated Extremis' benevolent potential as well as its explosive "glitches." Hansen eventually sold the Extremis formula to A.I.M., a think tank run by Aldrich Killian. Killian recognized Extremis' combat potential, and began using it to form a legion of powerful soldiers. Hansen quietly objected to this, and in 2012 attempted to reach out to Stark for help. But Killian kept her under his thumb, working to "improve" Extremis. When A.I.M. captured Stark in December of 2012, Hansen demanded Killian release her or she would give herself a fatal dose of Extremis. Killian called her bluff, shooting her in the chest and killing her.
