The Magician is an American villain who uses his career as a stage magician as a front to his attempts at robbery. He has no readily apparent magical powers other than possibly an aptitude for hypnosis.

In 1964, the Magician got a job as the entertainment for a party being held by wealthy socialite Sterling Stuyvesant. As he incapacitated the partygoers with a large sheet of canvas, he was confronted by the Wasp, who had been attending the party in her secret identity. He captured the insectoid hero in the head of his cane, which was specially modified to store stolen goods. Magician took Wasp and imprisoned her on his hideout blimp, which was painted blue so as not to be seen in the daytime sky. Soon after, he heard of another socialite party being held on a yacht just off the harbor. He arrived via the blimp only to find that it was a trap set by Giant-Man. Giant-Man, transforming into Ant-Man as convenient, followed Magician back into the blimp and rescued the Wasp, who sent the blimp crashing into the river. Magician was recovered by the police, who took him into custody.[1] He escaped shortly after, but was quickly returned to justice by the Wasp.[2]
