Heinz Kruger (Earth-199999)

Heinz Kruger was a German Hydra agent who assassinated Abraham Erskine after the operation that created Captain America. Kruger was undercover as an American government agent named Fred Clemson. On behalf of Hydra, Kruger shot and killed Erskine, stole a supply of Erskine's super-soldier serum, and destroyed the remaining serum. Fleeing from the scene, Kruger was pursued and caught by Captain America—his vial of the serum was destroyed in the process, ensuring (along with Erskine's death) that it would never be recreated. Kruger consumed a cyanide pill before he could be taken into custody, declaring his allegiance to Hydra in his dying moments.
