Hate-Monger
The Hate-Monger was a clone of Adolf Hitler and a villain.
Biography
The Hate-Monger is a product of Nazi cloning of Adolf Hitler, though the exact circumstances of this process are unclear, beyond the fact that he inherited the deceased Hitler's mind and consciousness.[1] Dressed in a masked purple hood and gown, the Hate-Monger came to prominence in 1963 as a charismatic, vitriolic, and bigoted public figure, able to stir a crowd into a riot in moments. In truth, this ability was thanks to a "hate ray" that filled its targets with irresistible feelings of hatred and violence. Hate-Monger's goal, like Hitler's, was world domination, and aimed to use his hate ray as a means to that end. He applied the hate ray in a test run on the democratic nation of San Gusto, artificially rallying communist rebels into war. Late in the year, a speech in the streets of New York caught the attention of the Fantastic Four. Hate-Monger used his ray to rally the public against foreigners, causing a riot. The Thing fought back against the rioters until Hate-Monger applied his ray to the Four themselves. The heroes fought each other and split up the team, overwhelmed by blind hatred. Later, Hate-Monger witnessed the Four's pogo plane depart from the Baxter Building, and speculated that it was on its way to San Gusto. Through an advanced underground vehicle, Hate-Monger returned to San Gusto, where he and his men captured Mr. Fantastic, alone. Mr. Fantastic was freed by Nick Fury, a CIA agent and former soldier, and claimed the antidote for Hate-Monger's hate gas. The Four were reunited and cured of their animosity, and along with Fury cornered Hate-Monger, diverting his ray toward his own soldiers. The soldiers shot and killed him, allowing Mr. Fantastic to reveal his face, ostensibly that of Adolf Hitler.[2]
