Destroyer (human)

The Destroyer, born Charles Stanton, is an American communist agent in Glenville, New York, and former publisher of the Glenville Gazette newspaper. For some time, he had lived and worked in Glenville, smuggling information to the communists. When construction of an amusement park in Glenville began near his hideout, Stanton began secretly sending threats to his own paper of an attack from "The Destroyer," demanding that construction be halted otherwise. Construction did not stop, and Glenville resident Human Torch deflected each of Destroyer's attempts to terrorize the park. Torch figured out Destroyer's communist ties and stormed his hideout with the U.S. military, unmasking him and taking him into custody.
