Commissar

The Commissar was a large, powerful, and intelligent humanoid robot constructed by the communist forces of Sin-Cong to serve as a totalitarian figurehead. In 1965, it lured the Avengers into Sin-Cong, pretending to be an underground freedom movement via radio message. Once they arrived, Commissar kidnapped the Scarlet Witch and challenged the team to consecutive single combat in front of a viewing audience, so that he might win a propaganda victory over the Americans. The Commissar defeated each man among the Avengers in sequence, but the Scarlet Witch discovered its secret, revealing and destroying the electronic panel from which it was controlled, and exposing the communists' false rule over Sin-Cong.
