Cerebro is a complex machine invented by Professor X of the X-Men. It detects mutant brain waves at long-range in much the same way that Professor X himself does telepathically, allowing people other than him to keep tabs on potential mutant threats. In 1964 he introduced Cyclops to Cerebro after appointing him leader of the X-Men during his absence.[1]
