Carlo Strange
Doctor Strange, born Carlo Strange, is a mad scientist who by 1963 had already been an infamous criminal for some time. Imprisoned, Strange developed an electromagnetic device that he used on the nearby Iron Man to electrically "hypnotize" him and command him to free him from his cell. The mindless Iron Man did so, flying Strange away to his base off the American Atlantic coast and flying away afterward. Strange's goal, like many villains, was to conquer the world, ostensibly with the motive of impressing his daughter Carla. He detonated a nuclear bomb above Earth's atmosphere, transmitting a message to the world leaders demanding that they surrender to him or face destruction. Carla was unimpressed however, insisting that all she wanted was a normal life. Iron Man soon returned, penetrating Strange's stronghold and with Carla's help destroying his equipment and forcing him to retreat. Strange's whereabouts since then are unknown.[1]
Carlo bears no relation to the magical hero Stephen Strange.
