Ben Parker (Earth-1610)
Ben Parker was an American man living in Queens, New York. He was the husband of May and uncle of Peter Parker, better known as the hero Spider-Man. Ben and May took custody of Peter in his youth after his parents both died in a plane crash. A loving and supportive guardian, Ben encouraged Peter in his academic pursuits, and did what he could to help Peter live up to his considerable potential. Their relationship was strained after Peter obtained his Spider-Man powers and a heightened aggressiveness, as he repeatedly acted out toward Ben and May. Unaware of Peter's powers, Ben nonetheless recognized a great deal of ability in his nephew, and cautioned him against squandering it. One night in the year 2000, Ben was shot and killed by a home invader demanding money. When Peter learned that the killer was a robber whom he had neglected to apprehend earlier that day, he was incredibly distraught and vowed to embrace the great responsibility that his great powers had thrust upon him.[1][2][3]
