Alicia Reiss Masters[1] is an American woman and the stepdaughter of the Puppet Master. She is romantically linked with the Thing.

Biography

The stepdaughter of the villainous Puppet Master, Alicia Masters is blind and possesses an artistic inclination towards sculpture. By late 1962, she was living with her stepfather, who treated her with disregard. When Puppet Master set his sights on the recently formed Fantastic Four, he disguised her as Invisible Girl and sent her to the Baxter Building as bait. His plan failed; realizing her stepfather's despotic aspirations, Alicia put a stop to him. Following a struggle in their apartment, Puppet Master fell from the window to the street below.[2] Alicia remained a friend of the Fantastic Four, and in particular became romantically close with the Thing. She helped him overcome his dysphoria regarding his rock body—the sculptor in her saw beauty in his unconventional form.

Puppet Master survived his fall, and spent several months in a sanitorium. He was soon released, and sought revenge against the Fantastic Four by controlling their rival Namor the Sub-Mariner and sending him against them. When the Four confronted Namor in his undersea chambers, Thing brought Alicia along; there they learned of Puppet Master's involvement as he observed from a vessel outside Namor's lair. A giant octopus under Namor's control escaped, colliding with his vessel and seemingly taking him out once more.[3] She was later kidnapped by Doctor Doom and taken aboard his airship before again being saved by the Four.[4]
