Surtur

Surtur is the former fire demon lord of Muspelheim. His existence predates that of the oldest Asgardian beings.[1] During the reign of Odin, Surtur was trapped by the Asgardian king in the core of Midgard, becoming the planet's source of heat and energy. With no other option, Surtur sent a winged horse up through a volcano as a peace offering, hoping to one day be freed.[2]
