Cpl. Otto Schmidt[note 1] is a Nazi soldier who was captured and taken prisoner by the Howling Commandos. In exchange for sparing his life, Schmidt warned Commandos leader Nick Fury of a booby-trapped German ammo dump in France. This information proved to be critical to Fury's acquittal during his court-martial several weeks later.[1]
