The Orb was a small spherical container in Earth-199999 that for untold millennia safely housed the Power Stone in an abandoned temple on Morag. In 2014, Star-Lord retrieved the Orb, setting off a series of conflicts over its possession. The Orb's own notoriety was such that most parties involved didn't even realize that it contained the Power Stone. When Ronan the Accuser obtained the Orb, he destroyed it and claimed the Stone inside for himself, installing it in his Cosmi-Rod. The Guardians of the Galaxy reclaimed the Stone and kept it in a replacement Orb, handing it off to the Nova Corps on Xandar for safekeeping.[1]
