The Miracle Man, birth name unknown, is a villain and former magician and hypnotist, primarily opposing the Fantastic Four.

Biography

Origin

Miracle Man made his name as a stage magician, seemingly performing "miracles"—extremely impressive and ostensibly impossible acts, such as breaking a log with a single finger. The secret to his magic was a different power altogether: his potent aptitude for hypnosis. None of the supposed miracles actually occurred; he'd simply hypnotized the audience into believing that they had. For some time he used this ability innocuously, for mere entertainment, but soon realized that he could accomplish much by using his powers for evil.

Conflicts with the Fantastic Four

Miracle Man declared war on the human race through a letter to the police, and began terrorizing New York City by seemingly animating a large, monstrous statue. The Fantastic Four rose up to oppose him, but he trounced them multiple times. In their final battle however, Human Torch caused a bright flash of flame that temporarily blinded Miracle Man, damaging his eyes and stripping him of his hypnotic power. Mr. Fantastic had deduced Miracle Man's secret, and rightly concluded that he was then powerless.[1] Miracle Man's fate since falling to the Fantastic Four is unknown.
