Frigga was the queen of Asgard, wife of Odin, and mother of Thor. She often played the role of peacekeeper in her family, especially with regard to attempting to calm her troubled, adopted son Loki. She and Loki were very close, and she taught him in the ways of magic.[1] In 2013, when Thor brought his human lover Jane Foster to Asgard with the Aether inside her, Frigga protected her at all costs. Malekith and his army of Dark Elves invaded Asgard to claim the Aether, but Frigga bravely used her magic and cunning to keep Foster safe. She was stabbed and killed by Malekith's minion Algrim, moments before Thor could arrive and chase them off.[2]
