Baron Strucker
Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, commonly known as Baron Strucker, is a German nobleman and Nazi commander. He is an avid fencer, and often touts his sense of honor in combat, but will in fact take any means necessary to win.
Biography
Strucker first came to global prominence after being personally assigned by Adolf Hitler to humiliate Nick Fury of the Howling Commandos. Strucker airdropped a letter into the Commandos' base camp challenging Fury to a duel, and Fury arrived that night to face him as expected. The two did battle in a swordfight, and shared a toast beforehand as customs dictated. Strucker's men slipped a pill into Fury's drink that caused him to grow gradually weaker as the fight progressed, eventually passing out. Strucker and his men took photos with Fury's downed body and unceremoniously dropped him in the swamps outside the American base camp. These photos were used in Nazi propaganda, supposedly demonstrating their superiority over the increasingly infamous American hero. Some time later, the Commandos assaulted a Nazi base in Dortstadt for which Strucker was responsible. Fury got his revenge, pelting Strucker with a barrage of punches and knocking him unconscious. Fury's men got photos of his victory just as Strucker had, and Strucker was left there to recover.[1] Some time later, Strucker was caught in the middle of the Commandos' attempt to capture Hitler. Though he foiled their first attempt after spotting an incognito Fury in a crowd, he was later forced at gunpoint into assisting with their plan. Fortunately for the Nazi regime, the man that the Commandos eventually captured was merely one of Hitler's doubles.[2]
