Adhesive X

Adhesive X is an adhesive material synthesized by Nazi scientist Baron Zemo during World War II, believed for decades to possess an unbreakable bond with whatever it adheres to. The hero Captain America prevented the Nazis from putting Adhesive X to use, storming Zemo's laboratory and destroying the vat containing it. The resulting rupture caused the material to bond Zemo's signature red hood to his face, where it would remain even as he fled Europe for the South American jungle. Zemo tried and failed to find a counter to Adhesive X all the way to 1964, when he and the Masters of Evil administered Adhesive X across New York City. They were challenged by the Avengers, including Captain America, who used a "super-dissolver" developed by imprisoned villain Paste-Pot Pete to successfully counteract Adhesive X.[1]
